Job Description:

NES UK requires a Senior Recruitment Consultant who will be solely responsible for managing and developing our Mining, Minerals and Metals division within our London (Surbiton, Surrey) office.  Ideally a graduate, it is essential you have previous recruitment experience within this industry and have a good understanding of the UK and Overseas market and be well versed in dealing with existing clients within Mining, Minerals and Metals organisations wishing to recruit staff.

You will have strong business development skills and be used to bringing new clients on board via direct marketing, attending exhibitions and referrals. Due to the high profile nature of this role, you will have experience of setting and delivering targets and reporting to Director level staff.

Naturally, you will be able to demonstrate your skills in sourcing candidates via an established database, job boards and referrals and matching those with our current client requirements for both contract and permanent positions.
The nature of this role requires the direct management of 1 junior Recruiter in terms of their workload and development so previous management experience is also essential.

Ultimately, the objective is to meet the needs of both the client and the candidate to ensure the best mutual fit. This is not simply a case of skills matching but one of truly understanding a client's business, its culture and the specialist-mining sector in which it operates, as well as the career aspirations and expectations of our candidates.

Successful candidates will have previous recruitment experience, possibly gained within the rail industry, although this is not essential as full training will be given. Daily duties will include client and candidate liaison, co-ordination of interviews, negotiation, setting up contracts and the generation of new business through the provision of an exceptional service, leading to referrals and the timely identification of new opportunities, such as the approval of new projects. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR / EXECUTIVE

NES is fast approaching being a quarter of a billion pound turnover organisation that has a broad client base and an ever-growing network of offices. As the business has continued to grow, the requirement for coordinating bids and tender responses for all areas of the business and being responsible for general information management and research has grown accordingly.

NES is developing a comprehensive knowledgebase system that will incorporate all Group business units. This knowledgebase will play a central role in responding to and coordinating the NES responses to bids and tenders for the UK and Global engineering, IT and rail client questionnaires that are received.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Maintain the content in the knowledgebase
  • Conduct secondary research, primarily online
  • Undertake competitor analysis and collate findings on a monthly basis
  • Complete RFIs, ITT responses, questionnaires, and general bids and tender responses when and as required
  • Report writing
  • Full business development support for NES UK, NES Global, NES IT and NES Track  


Key skills and competencies

  • High level of written English, spelling and grammar
  • Competent with general Microsoft Office programs
  • Familiar with using the Internet for general searching
  • Be organised and have good time management skills
