Description
Jobsite is the UK's original multi sector recruitment website, containing jobs from 37 different sectors.
Appearance
The design of the site mirrors that of the orange and dark blue Jobsite logo, with blue text and a scattering of orange tabs and boarders. Site functions appear under clearly labelled category titles. The design is minimalist, with very little to detract from its function.
Navigation
Navigation throughout the site is straightforward. Each category heading on the home page enables users to select their function of interest. There are very few opportunities to get lost while using the site; for example, when users select ‘engineering’ from under the Job Sectors heading, they are taken to a page that enables them to define their job search results by discipline and industry sector simultaneously.
Contents
Users of this site can search for jobs prior to registering. They are also able to take the Jobsite Personal Profile Test, which assesses individual work and family ethics to provide an insight into preferable types of work for an individual.
Blogs from industry figures as well as a ‘top 10’ list providing the names of the highest ranked recruitment agencies can also be accessed without having to register with Jobsite.
For recruiters, the aim of the site is to make recruitment “…quick, easy and cost effective.” This is achieved through: recruitment vacancy advertising; CV database searching; online applicant tracking; and branding opportunities. The site boasts over 3m candidates and one of the largest CV databases in Europe.
One of the limitations of job sites that are not industry-specific is that they do not contain news items relevant to each sector, but in the case of Jobsite, this is counterbalanced by the volume of jobs and candidates.
Of around 25,000 jobs within the Engineering sector, 3,145 match the search for ‘process engineer,’ 387 match ‘chemical engineer.’ The site has 349 live jobs in Water, 1507 in Pharmaceutical, 1083 in oil & gas, and 640 in food & drink / fine chemicals. Job specifications are thorough, with details of how to apply clearly displayed.
Registration
For candidates, the registration process is quick and easy, taking under five minutes to complete.
In addition to the ability to search by job title, location and discipline / sector, registered users of the site can apply for jobs online, receive details of suitable jobs via email, store CVs online and track the progress of applications. The APPLY NOW button is displayed next to each job specification, making the application process very simple. Registration also enables users to access a more detailed version of their Jobsite Personal Profile Test.
Conclusion
Jobsite is successful in offering a fully functional recruitment resource to recruitment agencies, hiring organizations and job seekers. The career development help available, such as the personal profile test and career coaching from online partners helps to ensure that candidates are fully prepared for their job search. For recruiters, Jobsite offers a range of hiring tools that contribute towards the success of recruitment campaigns.
