Our client is one of the most respected names in the building and civil engineering industry and has an enviable reputation as a leading provider of engineering contracting & services to blue chip clients in the infrastructure, oil gas and process sectors of the industry. Repeat business with key, reputable clients within this sector in addition to recently securing a handful of multi-million pound schemes within the oil, gas and nuclear sector has created an immediate requirement for a project based Quantity Surveyor to manage a the Mechanical and Electrical elements of a 60M gas storage commission in Northwich, Cheshire.

In this particular role, based between the head offices in Manchester and on-site in Northwich, while reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will provide key commercial management to the M&E installation to this gas storage unit. This contract is being administered through the NEC option C, target cost form of contract so a strong control of all financial aspects of this project will be expected. Within this role your duties will include;

Sub Contract procurement and management
Sub contract valuations
Measurement
Variations
Cost plans and reporting
Cost/value reconciliations
Interim main contract valuations
Pricing compensation events/variations.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering and infrastructure background, be degree or HND/HNC qualified with several years practical Quantity Surveying experience. Experience managing Mechanical and Electrical commissions will also be viewed as beneficial. It is expected you will have experience with the NEC form of contract, ideally NEC option C Target Cost.
