The role will require liaison with the FTN Senior Design Engineer as required, to enable testing and commissioning activities to be planned and progressed, and to carry out design acceptance provided by others.

The successful candidate will be issued with works information which will require his / her validation, to enable the progression of design activities. The candidate will also be required to undertake both detailed and high level design, in compliance with procedures and guidelines. The candidate will also implement design activities to enable the implementation of network elements.It is essential that candidates have previous experience in undertaking FTN design in accordance with:
�Alcatel Management platforms � RM, NM, AC
�Alcatel Transmission range, specifically 1511MX, 1512PL, 1515CX-C, 1640FOX, 1642EMC, 1650SMC, 1660SM

It is additionally desirable that the candidate has good knowledge of the following:
�DI&T SCADA management platform � PC-G8
�Nortel GSM-R base stations


Essential Requirements:

�Good knowledge of / experience with Alcatel Management platforms � RM, NM, AC
�Good knowledge of / experience with Alcatel Transmission range, specifically 1511MX, 1512PL, 1515CX-C, 1640FOX, 1642EMC, 1650SMC, 1660SM
�Experience of validating & authorising FTN works
�Background in detailed FTN design
�Good reporting skills
