Our client who is major tool hire company are looking to recruit a Product Buyer to be based in there Manchester branch.

JOB TITLE: PRODUCT BUYER
REPORTS TO: CATEGORY MANAGER

Job Purpose
To meet and exceed the company business plan and specific category strategy and objectives.

Main tasks:
Negotiation of purchase agreements incorporating best terms and pricing
Review of pricing agreements against benchmark data
Supplier management and review in areas of cost, quality and delivery performance against strict
P&Is
Management of supplier relationships
Achievement of strict KPI's in relation to cost reduction and supplier management
Analysis of market conditions against product and category performance
Identification of new product and or market opportunities
Monitoring and reporting of suppliers and related industry macroeconomic trends to peers and stakeholders

Qualifications:
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Commercially astute
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries and be representative at cross functional working groups
Strong communication skills
Proven track record of achieving business goals
Strong IT skills, working knowledge of Microsoft business packages essential
Educated to A level or equivalent (degree level desirable)
CIPS Qualification or willingness to achieve 
Experience within a similar industry or manufacturing background is advantageous
Experience of category management structure advantageous
