Our client, a large Oil and Gas Operating company are recruiting for an Engineering Lead with a background in Offshore Structural Engineering for a deepwater project.

The position is based in Houston until end of 2010 then mobilizing out to Korea or Finland for 12 months plus.

Engineering Lead

Engineering Lead key responsibilities:-
� Lead role in developing, executing and maintaining an engineering verification program.
� Lead role in supervision and training of the HST engineering staff (site structural engineers, site mechanical systems engineer).
� Interface focal point for engineering issues between Contractor and HST.
� Interface focal point for engineering issues between HST and design teams.
� Lead role in managing and verifying correctness of Contractor�s shop drawings with the Approved for Construction design drawings.
� Lead role in verifying design and operational procedures, premises, plans, manuals and structural analyses are all encompassing and adequate to perform hoist, lift and movement activities safely without any undue stress increases above the allowable stress limit. This includes loadout, marine, transportation, weighing and handling of heavy lifts.
� Lead role in validating the proposed fabrication support system is adequately designed and analyzed.
� Issue design drawings and specifications. Maintain design drawing as-builts with approved change request with cross-reference to site documents that modify or change the original design.

Qualifications:
� BS in Structural Engineering/Civil Engineering
� Minimum 10 years experience in the O&G industry directly associated with structural design of offshore structures and related to structural design, motion and stability stress analysis. A significant amount of this experience must be with deepwater floating systems (TLP�s, semi-submersibles, spars, etc.).
� Minimum 3 years site fabrication engineering experience, or one major project as site structural engineer.
� 2 years project engineering experience with good working knowledge of scheduling, contracts, etc
� Experienced with and working knowledge of API RP2A, AWSD1.1, AISC, LRFD and WSD Structural codes.
� Strong understanding of site HSE and Quality Management Systems.
