Our client, a multi-national organisation with 3 offices in the United Kingdom and several Oversees has an outstanding reputation for providing a high level of service for the design and construction of sustainable, remedial schemes for brownfield sites. Our client offers services that include; site conceptualisation, risk based remediation design, on-site soil and groundwater treatment, remediation management and project closure. Now, due to recently securing 3 large scale commissions in the North West, our client is looking to recruit a Commercial Manager / Contracts Manager to financially manage the costs of these projects from inception through to delivery stage.

Working out of the office in Merseyside and with regular visits to projects in the North West, you will be expected to manage the full costing of land remediation projects. Working within the senior management and project teams to ensure profitable delivery of brownfield reclamation contracts your responsibilities within this Commercial Management position will include;

Working with Contract Managers to develop plant programmes and initial cost estimates for remediation contracts
Weekly measurement of cost spend on contracts and weekly re-assessment of final contract costs and reporting of same to Operations Director
Manage contractual relationships with key clients, negotiating contract terms pre-award, ensuring application and payment for variations, ensuring timely payment of sales invoices
Compiling activity schedules / invoicing schedules and estimates of monthly cost spend on contracts
Monthly reporting to regional accruals with Finance and Operations Directors
Set up contracts internally in line with Celtics ISO9001 quality system
Management of key supplier relationships and negotiation of best available rates, payment terms etc
Compilation of monthly sales invoices
Managing debtors
Assisting Sales Director in estimation of tender prices
Setting up and managing contracts with key sub-contractors

Suitable candidates will have been working in the construction industry for several years and will have a Quantity Surveying background in remediation, civils, groundworks or similar with either a main contractor or subcontractor. Candidates possessing good contacts with plant hire, muck shifting or groundworks contractors in the Northwest will be suitable. The projects are normally administered through NEC3, ICE and JCT forms, so knowledge of these forms of contract will be beneficial. In return, candidates will receive and excellent basic salary of up to 50,000 per annum + a comprehensive benefits package which will include; a 6% contributory pensions scheme, health care, 25 days holiday, flexitime, and a company shared profit scheme and membership and subscription to a professional institute.
