I have just been appointed to recruit for a new vacency working for a UK based specialist construction business. The company specialise in delievering a modern and innovative approach to dealing with large re-development and re-generation projects. The company has a reputation for it's work within small communities and a reputation for handling projects that go further in terms of helping regions of the North of England that need it the most.

Current projects include a large re-development in conjunction with Salford Housing Trust which is seeing over 20 million being pumped into the area over the next 3 years. As well as re-development there is also a project for the construction of a new 5million specialist primary school.

The position I am dealing with is looking for a QS. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years Surveying experience and must have contracting experience. As you can see by the salary it is not the level of person that is important; but someone with exposure in similar fields with a genuine passion for work and a willing to work a company that deals with projects that give a bit back to the communities they work for.

Some key areas of day to day responsibilities will be:

Preparation of accurate cost/value analysis
Budget preparation
Pricing and rating variations
Assisting Supply Chain in the procurement of Suppliers and subcontractors
Site checks
Assisting in production of Value Enhancement Plans
Maintenance of Cost information
