Flow Assurance Engineer: South East
Our client is a major engineering contractor with projects worldwide in Oil, Gas and Energy sectors. A vacancy has arisen for a Flow Assurance Engineer located in their South East offices on a permanent basis.

The department is a specialist provider of pipeline and flow assurance design predominantly in conceptual studies and front end design work in upstream oil and gas development and production. The role has responsibility for the conceptual thermal hydraulic design of onshore and offshore oil and gas pipelines.
You must be familiar with two and three phase flow, pipeline modelling techniques and computer tools in both steady state and dynamic mode. Able to evaluate transient conditions such as warm up and cool down. Have knowledge in the assessment and development of operating and control strategies for start-up and shut-down. Also, you will have a working knowledge in the steady state thermal hydraulic design of flowlines, pipelines and pipeline bundles. Expertise in the analysis of hydrodynamic instability (slugging) and surge. You will have worked with the management of asphaltenes, wax and chemicals, pigging, scale, foaming and separation, hydrate inhibition, corrosion inhibition, reservoir fluid characterisation and phase behaviour analysis.
Exposure to water injection management, thermal hydraulic design of wells and well stimulation would be advantageous. Also, an understanding of the basic issues of mechanical and civil design and costs would be advantageous or, alternatively, a desire to grow into these areas.

The successful candidate must be a chartered engineer with a degree in chemical/process engineering or related subject, having significant knowledge ofoffshore and onshore flow assurance in both conceptual and FEED projects.
