Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Based in Wakefield (and other Yorkshire sites / offices)
Up to 26k salary + company car (with fuel card) / allowance + Health care + Contributary pension scheme (3-5%) + 26 days holiday + Lodge allowance

My client is a civil engineering, remediation, geotechnical, earthmoving and engineering contractor. who operate UK wide. As a multi-disciplined construction company, they have the capability to undertake works in the role of main contractor, sub contractor, design and build contractor or developer.

The Role

Your main responsibility is the provision of assistance in the measurement, valuation and cost control of civil engineering, remediation, earthmoving, geotechnical and public utilities contracts.

Responsibilities Include

Check and advise on contract documentation
Understand contract requirements
Assist with Implementation of risk and value management systems and cost control procedures
Assisting the preparation of project financial forecasts
Admeasure work done and maintain site records
Assist Land Survey team with topographical surveys and collation of measurement data provided by Land Survey team
Assist with contractual correspondence
Assist with Implementation of change control procedures and contractual notices
Assist with identification and valuation of extra and varied works
Assist with preparation of interim and final applications for payment
Assist with internal valuations and financial reports and forecasts
Assist with administration of subcontract accounts

Experience
General understanding of contractual arrangements
Commercially aware
Hands-on approach to all aspects of measurement, valuation and cost control
