The long awaited ninth edition of NES Oil & Gas is now here, having undergone a transformation after the launch of our new web sites – if you haven’t already had a look through them please go and do so as soon as you get chance!
The website isn’t the only area of our business that has seen significant development recently. We have been building our presence in Africa for some time now and, with current project investment in the region worth an estimated $186 billion, the future is certainly looking bright for operators, EPC companies and the recruitment firms that are able to fully satisfy their requirements.
With around $60bn of the planned investment in Nigeria and a further $50bn estimated to be in Angola, NES contractor numbers in Africa are rapidly increasing and project demands are set to improve this further – but we don’t just provide a ‘bums on seats’ service, extras such as meet & greet, taxation and medical planning services as well as our 24-hour personal security and incident management service are especially valued in high-risk locations.
Our Nigerian office has now been incorporated, helping us to support project work with Exxon Mobil’s MPN (Mobil Producing Nigeria) and we expect significant growth within the region now that our presence has been firmly established.
Further development in Angola is expected to mirror that of Nigeria, with incorporation expected within the next six months. New appointment, Gabrielle Padilha, a Portuguese national, will focus solely on supporting this venture. Based between Angola and the UK, Gabrielle will provide business development support alongside manager, Nick Stocker.
Supporting the work of BP Angola will also generate NES growth within the region and create career opportunities, as has already been the case with NES offices across the globe, where expatriates and locals have been combined to create a multi-lingual workforce, helping to access the global talent pool.
Andrew Rowlands,
Director NES Global.
